the old one is soooooooooooo cool... kind of abstract...
the second one is equally as cool, just in different ways.
its so hard for me to compare them with a definite 'better' or 'worse.' >.<
theyre both sooooo cooooooool.....

You certainly have improved a lot, but what I find shocking is how GOOD you were to start with! The recent painting is more detailed and more realistic, but the other one has a very definite style and could absolutely be an illustration in its own right. In fact I think that for some sorts of illustrations, the first one might even be more appropriate - I can totally see it in a children's tales book.
This being said, it's amazing that you can now do more realistic stuff - it means that you can choose whether you'd like to go for a more detailed, "traditional" piece, or to stylize and produce a very personal albeit less technically impressive result.
In any case, you've got an awesome natural understanding of colors and lightning - something many professional artists have worked years to achieve. And you being only 17... I honestly didn't think someone that young could be that good.

Thank you so much  I really try ;____; I'm really happy there's improvement in different ways. And yeah, I like being able to switch styles/techniques for different kinds of works. I guess I'm still finding my actual 'style', but getting to experiment with all kinds of them is really fun. Aand like I often say, there's always room for improvement

Personally I think they're both gorgeous. I love the hair in the first one, but EVERYTHING in the second one! Especially the lighting!!! : )))
